Who are Hunter Tours?

We are Andrew and Leisa Clarke and we have been operating our wine tours now for 9 years. When you join us, one of us will be your driver and guide for the day. We are also wine loving locals and know where those little hidden gems are.

Leisa, (me on the right) has worked in the retail and catering industry for over 20 years and now dabbles in basic web design for a few of her friends. Oh and this one of course.

When do you operate?

We operate 7 days a week except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day.

What Times do your tours start and finish?

Most tours start with pickup around the Hunter Valley Wine country at 9.15am Saturday/Sunday and 9.30am Monday to Friday. Some tours can have a later start.

Where do you pick up from?

We offer free pick up and drop off to most Hunter Valley Accommodation, Maitland area, Lovedale, Rothbury and Pokolbin.

Do you pick up from Newcastle?

Pick up from Newcastle University (Callaghan) can be arranged for groups of 4  to 6 people at an extra cost of $30 per group.

Pick up from Newcastle CBD is available Sunday to Thursday for groups of minimum 4 to 6 or 10 to 12 people - extra cost $40 per vehicle.

Do you pick up from Sydney?

Sorry we don't pick up from Sydney, Central Coast, Wollombi, Dungog or Port Stephens but we can put you in touch with operators who can.

How many people can you take?

We have 2 x 8 seater Toyota Landcruiser 4wds and can take minimum 2 people with a maximum of 7 people in each vehicle

Can we book a private tour?

Yes private tours can be arranged and are charged at a charter price. EG: Groups of 8 people are charged at charter prices.

Do you take children?

Children over 3 years are welcome on our tours and are the responsibility of the parents. We prefer you to bring your own booster seat.

Can we drink or eat in the vehicles?

You may bring some nibbles or bottles of water for your day out, but we prefer you not to drink alcohol in the vehicles.

How many vineyards do we visit?

Depending on which tour you choose, our full day wine tours normally include 5 to 7 vineyards.

Can we purchase wine?

You may purchase as much wine as you like, and we can arrange for it to be delivered anywhere in Australia for a small charge at one of the vineyards.

What if we buy cheese or chocolate, won't they go off in the vehicle?

Hunter Tours have small esky's (cooler boxes) for any perishables you may buy.

Can we choose where we want to have lunch?

We prefer to dine at Belposto Restaurant as they do provide us with a wonderful lunch and magnificent views. But if you let us know well in advance we can certainly try to accommodate you.
